Great post by Fred Destin at Atlas Venture.  He describes his filtering process for proposals that come in by email - although this post generated a lot of entrepreneurial angst - it is more helpful for entrepreneurs to know how the 'inside" of a venture firm works, than to be frustrated by it.  Forewarned is truly forearmed in this case.  Enjoy!
