How to find Angel Investors
Source for contacting angel groups both in Utah and Nationally - Many successful angels are joining angel networks as a way to ensure a more diversified portfolio (and better deal flow). For entrepreneurs its a great way to meet many more angels at once.
Finding angels is not trivial and I'll keep working on this, but here are some helpful thoughts.
This is the Angel Capital Education Foundation list of Angel groups around the country - it looks like an excellent list!
List of U.S. Angel Groups
This is a professional association for Angels, and it looks like it is affiliated with the foundation (the list of angel groups looks very similar)

When you approach an angel group from a different part of the country - MAKE SURE that they are investing nationally and not just regionally. For example, the Tech Coast Angels will toss out anyone not in their region. Don't waste your time, and most angel groups have someone who can answer questions, so ask before you submit.
Utah Angel Groups (which are maturing as we speak and have come a LONG way in the past 5 years!)
Salt Lake Life Science Angels
Olympus Angels
Funding Universe
Grow Utah Ventures
Top of Utah Angels (under sponsorship of Grow Utah Ventures)
A nice blog on the Kauffman website entitled
Angel Funding for Women and Minorities by Kathleen B. Schulweis
Also remember that the very best tool for finding angels is telling everyone you know that you are offering a great investment for accredited angel investors. If you are introduced to an angel who isn't a fit for you, be sure to invite them to suggest two other references! (It doesn't always work, but it never hurts to ask).
