Your next Gig!
I told my CFO at DoBox that I could never get used to the fact that everyone talked about "deals" and "deal flow". DoBox wasn't a deal to me, it was my life, my purpose, it was, in many ways, "me". But the day that we signed the deal that sold DoBox changed all that. Literally, as I signed the last piece of paper that put "my baby" in the hands of Netopia's (NTPA) management team, I knew that DoBox, Inc. was a deal, and that it was my first deal.
- Entrepreneurship isn’t an event, it’s a lifestyle
- Your first gig is often “your baby” and your own idea Your next gig is likely about the process of entrepreneurship
- My Dad once told me that most of the enterpreneurs he knew had made their “big money” on their third deal!
- A quality venture capitalist said to me recently that the worst entrepreneur is one who’s had a big success the first time – you can’t tell them anything He’d rather back someone who had failed and learned, particularly if it’s their third time out (one success, one failure, then poised for bigger things)
Once you have the bug, you can't quit!
